Seafood is the industry most intimately tied to the ocean. It feeds billions, sustains coastal communities, and serves as a proving ground for technologies that could redefine sustainability. Yet paradoxically, it remains one of the most overlooked sectors in the flow of capital into the “blue economy.”
Investor attention gravitates toward shipping, offshore energy and conservation, while seafood is often cast as the problem rather than a driver of change. This disconnect is striking, given how essential seafood is to the health of our planet.
